Softball Recap: Cape Coral Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Estero the last time they met, Cape Coral decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Seahawks came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 6-2 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.

Emma Brannan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jocelyn Slater was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Cape Coral's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Estero, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Coming up, Cape Coral will challenge Oasis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seahawks are facing the Sharks at the right time seeing as the Sharks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Estero, they will take on Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sharks have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
