Recap: Dyer County Choctaws vs. Millington Central Trojans
The Dyer County Choctaws put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Millington Central with points to spare, taking the game 91-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Millington Central still got an impressive performance from Brandon Payne, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 2 assists. Tayshaun Dye was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Dyer County has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 4-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for Millington Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dyer County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against McNairy Central at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. McNairy Central is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Millington Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Tipton-Rosemark Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Millington Central is ranked 101st).
