Basketball Recap: Pendleton Heights Comes Up Short

After flying high against Greenfield-Central on Friday, Pendleton Heights came back down to earth. The Arabians lost 78-58 to the Brownsburg Bulldogs on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Arabians have suffered since December 10, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Pendleton Heights lost, don't look at Adah Hupfer. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Hupfer has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 32 times she's played. Grace Lee was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Brownsburg was led to victory by Ava Emberton and Laniah Walkine. Emberton went 7-for-14 on her way to 19 points and four steals, while Walkine posted 16 points along with eight boards and four steals. Walkine continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kadence Paddock also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Pendleton Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Brownsburg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Pendleton Heights has already played their next matchup, a 63-33 win against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on the 24th. As for Brownsburg, they will square off against Hamilton Southeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 52 points per game this season.
