Softball Recap: Wheaton Academy Beats St. Edward for Their Fourth Straight Win

Wheaton Academy waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the St. Edward Green Wave as they made off with a 15-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Moriah Husted, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Emily From, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Wheaton Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .393 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Wheaton Academy pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for St. Edward, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Coming up, St. Edward will head out to challenge Christian Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Wave are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Wheaton Academy will be paying especially close attention to St. Edward's game: after St. Edward faces off against Christian Liberty, they'll take on Wheaton Academy again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
