Softball Recap: Northern Lebanon Beats Cocalico for Their Third Straight Victory

Northern Lebanon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Cocalico Eagles with a sharp 16-4 win. Considering the Vikings have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Stephanie Palkovic and Lynsie Mauser made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Palkovic pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Mauser pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. At the plate, Palkovic got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, while Mauser got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Addison Hollenbach was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Shutter, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Northern Lebanon's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Cocalico, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern Lebanon will challenge Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Cocalico, they will welcome Hershey at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
