Recap: Jackson Christian Royals vs. Colon Magi
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hillsdale Academy, the Jackson Christian Royals were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They snuck past Colon with a 44-40 victory. For Jackson Christian, this counts as revenge for the 61-36 loss Colon walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Colon had strong showings from Dalton Williams, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, and Nic Mock, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Williams pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Jackson Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Colon, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-8 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Jackson Christian will head out on the road to take on Camden-Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Camden-Frontier is on a five-game streak of home losses, Jackson Christian a ten-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Colon will take on Mendon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Mendon is ranked 513th, while Colon is ranked 520th).
