Lumberton is 0-5 against Scotland since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Fighting Scots at 7:00 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Jayden Graham and Tjurian White.

Lumberton is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Terry Sanford on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pirates were dealt a 42-6 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Scotland waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed past the Rams to the tune of 63-32. That looming 63-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Fighting Scots yet this season.

Scotland found their leader in freshman Mike McLean, who rushed for 150 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for McLean. Deondre Braddy was another key player, rushing for 90 yards and a pair of scores.

Scotland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 434 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Scotland's defensive line and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Rasheme Wilkerson, Jesse Clifton, and Jhaleak Malloy-Henry, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Scotland's record now sits at 6-2. As for Lumberton, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
