Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Find Success

St. Augustine lost to Point Loma on Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Saints sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Pointers.

St. Augustine got a great performance from Grayson Boles as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Boles has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Augustine's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drake Konja, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

St. Augustine's record is now 14-8-1. As for Point Loma, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7-1 record this season.

St. Augustine will have a chance to go back-to-back against Point Loma: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
