Basketball Recap: Plainfield East Takes a Loss

Plainfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 42-27 bruising from the Taft Eagles.

Taft found their leader in sophomore Sehvyn Foster, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 19 points. Foster is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Abbey Vancil, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Plainfield East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Taft, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Plainfield East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-16 win against Wheeling on the 22nd. As for Taft, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-46 victory against Maine East on the 22nd.
