Recap: Shawnee Braves vs. Benjamin Logan Raiders
This season hasn't been kind to the Shawnee Braves, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were outmatched by Benjamin Logan on the road and fell 55-25. While losing is never fun, Shawnee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 775th, while Benjamin Logan is ranked 379th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Benjamin Logan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Georgia Bates, who scored nine points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Bates is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Stahler, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Shawnee bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.5 points per game. As for Benjamin Logan, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Shawnee will head out on the road to face off against Northeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Benjamin Logan, they will be playing at home against London at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
