Baseball Recap: Waurika Comes Up Short

Waurika extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 18-6 to Wilson. If Waurika was looking for revenge after losing 13-1 to Wilson when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Wilson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3. Considering they have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Wilson's part, Hunter Brooks was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave Brooks a new career-high. Cooper Burkhart was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Coincidentally, Waurika and Wilson will both be playing Walters the next time they take the field. Wilson will host Walters at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Waurika will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
