Baseball Recap: North Catholic Victorious

North Catholic posted their closest win since May 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Central Valley Warriors. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Caden Williams looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. He has become a key player for North Catholic: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise.

At the plate, North Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Eifler, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Eifler a new career-high. Another was Josef Safar, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

North Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Central Valley, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

North Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
