Waterloo posted their closest win since September 20th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gibault Catholic Hawks, sneaking past 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Waterloo got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-21.

Raina Roessler paced Waterloo's offense, picking up five kills. Roessler got some help from Ellie Day and her ten assists. Day was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Despite the defeat, Gibault Catholic had strong showings from BRYNN MOORE, who had 22 digs, and OLIVIA BIFFAR, who had 12 digs and ten assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Waterloo and bumps their season record up to 20-6. As for Gibault Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

Waterloo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Mascoutah on the 14th. As for Gibault Catholic, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Marquette Catholic on the 14th.
