Basketball Recap: Arkansas City's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Arkansas City couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maize South Mavericks on Friday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Arkansas City still got an impressive performance from Saliyah Henderson-Johnson, who shot 5-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Henderson-Johnson is now averaging an impressive 8 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierslynn Waggoner, who posted nine points and three steals.

Arkansas City's defeat dropped their record down to 19-3. As for Maize South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-3.
