After a string of three wins, Golden's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Thomas Jefferson Spartans by a score of 56-53. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Demons of the 79-65 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Golden's loss came despite strong showings from Leif Hansen and Dylan Paulson. Hansen went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points, while Paulson posted eight points in addition to six boards and three steals. Aidan Owens was another key player, putting up eight points.

Shane Curry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Thomas Jefferson, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Curry's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Cuellar, who earned ten points.

Golden's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Thomas Jefferson, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Golden will take on Pomona at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Golden is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will face off against Regis Groff at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
