Football Recap: Porter-Gaud Comes Up Short

Porter-Gaud extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-21 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heathwood Hall Episcopal Highlanders. The Cyclones were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Porter-Gaud still got an impressive performance from Scott Tibbals, who rushed for 123 yards and one score. Daven Brown was in the mix too, providing the Cyclones with two touchdowns.

As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.5 points over those games.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Belk out in front who threw for 223 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 48 yards.

Porter-Gaud wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 38-0 win against Ben Lippen on the 3rd. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, they have also already played their next game, a 33-0 victory against Augusta Christian on the 3rd.
