Baseball Recap: Emery Takes a Loss

If Emery was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Richfield on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Carbon Dinos by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dinos from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Emery saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Christiansen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Emery has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Carbon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season.

Emery will venture away from home to square off against Delta at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carbon will be paying especially close attention to the Spartans' contest: after the Spartans face off against the Rabbits, they'll take on Carbon again at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
