Baseball Game Preview: Hudson Hornets vs. Madisonville Mustangs

Hudson is 9-1 against Madisonville since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Hudson will welcome Madisonville at 7:00 p.m. Hudson hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Hudson fell victim to Tompkins and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0.

Ceylan Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Hudson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Channing Howatt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Meanwhile, Madisonville didn't have quite enough to beat Franklin on Saturday and fell 7-6.

Jackson Zanolini made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Cade Campbell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1. As for Madisonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

Hudson took their victory against Madisonville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Hudson repeat their success, or does Madisonville has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
