Basketball Recap: Quaker Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Quaker Valley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Carrick Raiders by a score of 62-49. The Quakers pushed the score to 56-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders cut but never quite recovered from.

Quaker Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zach Washington, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 23 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those six assists gave Washington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Chapman, who posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Quaker Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Quaker Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Carrick, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Quaker Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ambridge at 7:30 p.m. Quaker Valley is facing Ambridge at the right time seeing as Ambridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Carrick, they will head out to face off against South Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
