Basketball Recap: Fairmont Senior Polar Bears vs. East Fairmont Bees
Fairmont Senior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-41 loss at the hands of the East Fairmont Bees. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Bees are ranked 13th).
Kailee Haymond was her usual excellent self, putting up 19 points and four steals for East Fairmont. Haymond's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kasey Rogers, who posted 11 points and seven assists.
Fairmont Senior's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for East Fairmont, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Fairmont Senior has already played their next contest, an 81-47 loss against Philip Barbour on the 5th. As for East Fairmont, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chapmanville Regional at 7:30 p.m.
