There's no place like home for Winfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past St. Charles West 3-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-1 victory back in September.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Winfield got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-27, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11.

Marlie Karsten paced Winfield's offense, picking up 33 kills. Karsten got some help from Amelia Conrad and her 27 assists. Conrad was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Winfield pushed their record up to 16-10-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Charles West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Winfield nor St. Charles West have any future games scheduled.
