Softball Recap: Baldwin Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

The Baldwin Highlanders got the win against the Connellsville Falcons on Tuesday by a conclusive 20-5. Considering the Highlanders have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Avery Herrington was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Gabriella Jaquay was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Baldwin is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Connellsville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Baldwin is set to take on their familiar foe Thomas Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Connellsville will challenge rival Bethel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
