Flag Football Recap: Oakmont Takes a Loss

Oakmont extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-8. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wheatland Pirates. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly six points.

As for Wheatland, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.3 points on average over those games.

Ashtynne Agarenzo was her usual excellent self, rushing for 61 yards and two scores on only six carries, while also throwing for 172 yards and one TD.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Oakmont is set to face off against their familiar foe Mira Loma at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Wheatland will square off against rival Gridley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
