Softball Recap: Central Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Central waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Hartselle Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since March 21st.

Central got a great performance from Kayla Storey as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Mariah Harrison was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Sevier, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 24-15. As for Hartselle, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 26-6-1 record.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-0 win against White Plains on the 25th. As for Hartselle, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Sparkman on the 25th.
