Baseball Recap: Westosha Central Takes a Loss

Westosha Central extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-10 in the process. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Badger Badgers. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Badgers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Westosha Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Nottingham, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

As for Badger, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

On Badger's side, Riley Lussmyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Lussmyer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trent Ertmann, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westosha Central will square off against Arrowhead at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Badger, they will take on Harvard at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
