Basketball Recap: Midway Comes Up Short

Midway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Archie Whirlwinds. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-32 back in December of 2024.

Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Archie, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midway has already played their next contest (against Appleton City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Archie will square off against Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Archie is facing Jasper at the right time seeing as Jasper is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
