Softball Recap: New Bloomfield Wildcats vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds
New Bloomfield couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the North Callaway Thunderbirds by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
The win (which was North Callaway's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
New Bloomfield will head out to square off against Fayette at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Callaway, they will challenge Russellville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Callaway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
