Softball Recap: West Jefferson Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

West Jefferson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Fairbanks Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Roughriders have posted against the Panthers since April 26, 2021.

Jenna Mannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, West Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

West Jefferson's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Fairbanks, they moved to 15-2 with that defeat, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.
