Baseball Recap: Long's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Long fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Providence Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Providence Christian Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Rebels were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Eagles' pitchers proved too tough.

Long moved to 7-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.2 runs. As for Providence Christian, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long will head out to take on Carroll at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Providence Christian, they will face off against Enterprise at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Enterprise will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Providence Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
