Soccer Game Preview: Mayfair vs. Firebaugh

Mayfair and Firebaugh are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Mayfair Monsoons will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against the Firebaugh Falcons at 3:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Mayfair and ten for Firebaugh.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mayfair's offense. They fell 2-0 to Norwalk on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Monsoons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 917th, while the Lancers are ranked 293rd).

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Firebaugh after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Gahr by a score of 2-1.

Mayfair's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1. As for Firebaugh, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10-1.
