Baseball Recap: Elder Triumphs

While Elder's win against Lakota West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Firebirds 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Firebirds: they've now won four in a row.

Brady Andriacco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, Elder saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Chumbley, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Chumbley a new career-high.

Elder's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Lakota West, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Elder will venture away from home to challenge La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakota West, they will host Oak Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
