Football Game Preview: Hankinson Pirates vs. Griggs County Central/Midkota Cougars

The Hankinson Pirates will challenge the Griggs County Central/Midkota Cougars on Friday. Hankinson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Griggs County Central/Midkota likes a good challenge.

Hankinson is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Dakota's top teams: South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley], who was ranked sixth at the time (Hankinson was ranked third). The Pirates took down the Mustangs 50-36 last Friday.

Meanwhile, Griggs County Central/Midkota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 55-18 loss at the hands of South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley].

Griggs County Central/Midkota now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hankinson, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Hankinson was able to grind out a solid victory over Griggs County Central/Midkota when the teams last played back in October of 2023, winning 34-26. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
