Recap: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights vs. Hooper Academy Colts
The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-26 walloping at the hands of Hooper Academy. While losing is never fun, Macon-East Montgomery Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Hooper Academy is ranked 148th).
When it comes to explaining why Macon-East Montgomery Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keagan Roney. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Roney is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Thaddeus McKinney was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Hooper Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Southern Prep Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Hooper Academy, Hooper Academy and Edgewood Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
