Baseball Recap: Kennedy's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Kennedy not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the DSST: Montview Knights. The win was some much needed relief for the Commanders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Vincent McHone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Kennedy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-4 otherwise. McHone was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adrian Montoya was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kalani Market, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for DSST: Montview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will take on Denver West at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Commanders are facing the Cowboys at the right time seeing as the Cowboys are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for DSST: Montview, they will head out to take on Bruce Randolph at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.8 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
