Baseball Recap: Woodland Park Comes Up Short

Woodland Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Salida Spartans, falling 17-7. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Gabe Marquez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Woodland Park's record is now 13-8. As for Salida, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-10.

As of now, neither Woodland Park nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
