Softball Recap: Bishop Snyder Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Bishop Snyder duked it out with Nease on Thursday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 20-2 to the Panthers when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lola Aberly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Chloe Gotto was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Snyder and nudges their season record down to 12-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Nease, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Bishop Snyder will head out on the road to face off against Hilliard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Red Flashes at the right time seeing as the Red Flashes are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Nease, they will be playing at home against Fletcher at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
