Softball Recap: Mojave Has No Trouble Against Las Vegas

Mojave never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Las Vegas on Tuesday. They blew past the Wildcats 14-4. The win continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Emiko-Lin Kalani made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kalani was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylinn Bentley, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadin Broadnax, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Mojave always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Las Vegas only posted an OBP of .367.

Mojave's record now sits at 5-8. As for Las Vegas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mojave will square off against Desert Oasis at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Las Vegas, they will take on Foothill at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.69 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
