Softball Preview: Perry Pumas vs. Chandler Wolves
Perry is 9-1 against Chandler since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Perry Pumas will head out on the road to square off against the Chandler Wolves at 3:45 p.m.
Perry will head into Wednesday's contest out to bounce back: they came back down to earth on Wednesday after soaring to a ten-point game in their last game. They fell just short of Desert Vista by a score of 7-5.
Raegyn Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with a home run. C C Hall was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Chandler can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Westwood by a score of 10-5.
Sarah Hartrumph spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Chandler got a massive performance out of Cian Noli, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariah Liufau, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Perry has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Chandler, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
