Matthew Wheeley put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Macon County is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-3 otherwise.
