Gentry Elson commands the offense for Blue Devils win

The Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 38-31 victory over Hoopeston. For Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, this counts as revenge for the 44-31 defeat Hoopeston walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gentry Elson, who scored four points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marleigh Schmit, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-11. As for Hoopeston, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 12-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin will take on Chrisman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoopeston won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Thomas More at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. St. Thomas More is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
