Baseball Recap: Dalton's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dalton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Southeast Whitfield County Raiders 17-3. Considering the Catamounts have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dalton got a massive performance out of Tate Neilson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Neilson a new career-high. Connor Stockard was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Dalton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dalton's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 16 of their last 17 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dalton will welcome East Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Catamounts' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Hurricanes have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they will take on Cartersville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
