Volleyball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Pendleton County. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Pendleton County this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Pendleton County, their win ended a 14-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-22.

Newport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Calvary Christian on the 7th. Pendleton County has also already played their next matchup (against Dayton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
