Ledyard had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-2  win over the Stonington Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Colonels have posted  since April 10th.
 Alexia Lemmon made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   seven  hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Julia Bonser was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. She has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  hits the last three times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Mia Starling, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Ledyard pushed their record up to 10-2 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Stonington,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-3.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ledyard will square off against Putnam at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Stonington, they will head out to  challenge Woodstock Academy  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Centaurs have averaged an impressive 7.3  runs per game this season.
