Baseball Recap: Twin Falls Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Twin Falls waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Pocatello Thunder by a score of 13-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-1 on Tuesday.

Dalton Carter was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Twin Falls is undefeated when Carter posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Kentyn Ketterling looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Cooper Thompson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Twin Falls' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Conner Lee also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Twin Falls pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Pocatello, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Twin Falls will challenge Borah at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pocatello, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-13 loss against Minico on the 28th.
