Basketball Recap: Dooly County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Treutlen

Dooly County scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Treutlen Vikings, falling 87-66. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in February.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sean Sallette, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. With that strong performance, Sallette is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Javion Sanders, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 20 points.

Dooly County's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Treutlen, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Dooly County Bobcats take on the Crisp County Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Treutlen, they will take on Wheeler County at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Treutlen knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Wheeler County likes a good challenge.
