The North White Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Carroll Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. North White will be strutting in after a victory while Carroll will be coming in after a loss.
North White is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Tri-Township on Thursday as they made off with a 22-2 win. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Raelynn Anliker and Emma Jacobsma made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Anliker struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Meanwhile, Jacobsma pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Anliker went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Jacobsma went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Jacobsma a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Melanie Crawford, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Morgan Carter was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
North White kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Carroll didn't have quite enough to beat Rossville on Thursday and fell 3-2. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Charlotte Kingery spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Aleah Savoie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
North White's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. North White has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Carroll struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
North White suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Carroll in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
