The Taconic Hills Titans will challenge the Hudson Bluehawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Taconic Hills 2.8, Hudson 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
If Taconic Hills beats Hudson with 13 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Titans never let Germantown get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Titans have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Maky Kirby was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Taconic Hills let Francis Conners-Schmid and Aidan Buchinsky run wild. Conners-Schmid went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Buchinsky went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Buchinsky has posted since back in April. Charlie Schrader was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hudson came up short against Greenville on Thursday and fell 7-2.
Hudson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Conte, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Ryan Conte, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
The victory (which was Taconic Hills' third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Hudson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Taconic Hills has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hudson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Taconic Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Hudson in their previous matchup back in April, winning 4-1. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bluehawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
