While The First Academy's victory against Melbourne wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The First Academy Royals had just enough and edged the Melbourne Bulldogs out 59-56. That's more bragging rights for the Royals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The First Academy's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Max Simmons, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Cory Mcpherson, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points in addition to six assists and three steals.
