Football Recap: IMG Academy Ascenders vs. St. Thomas More Chancellors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Frances Academy, IMG Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the St. Thomas More Chancellors with a sharp 28-7 victory. The Ascenders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.
IMG Academy found their leader in freshman Jayden Wade, who threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown. Those 92 rushing yards gave Wade a new career-high. Raiden Vines-Bright was Wade's top target, picking up 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
IMG Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.5 points. As for St. Thomas More, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
