Soccer Game Preview: Adelanto vs. Barstow

The Adelanto Saints will take on the Barstow Aztecs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Barstow took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Adelanto, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Adelanto turned things around against Victor Valley on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Jackrabbits a 2-0 shutout.

Jona Parra was the driving force of Adelanto's attack as he scored both of Adelanto's goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Barstow unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granite Hills. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 396th, while the Cougars are ranked 67th).

Barstow's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-7-2. As for Adelanto, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-15.
